Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal/Indigenous Cultures, Sovereignties, and Languages, University of Arizona
The Chair will be housed in the Department of American Indian Studies in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Focused on teaching and research pertaining to Indigenous (Aboriginal; American Indian; Alaska or Hawaiian Native) language preservation, culture, and governance, including but not limited to natural resource management, indigenous politics, tribal education, entrepreneurship and economic development, and tribal health. The Visiting scholar will work on such teaching and research, as well as on applied business development in tribal communities in the Fulbright Chair’s host department AIS. The scholar will also work collaboratively with the Native Nations Institute in the University of Arizona's Udall Center, and with American Indian communities in Arizona and the four-corners area. The Fulbright chair will have the opportunity to deliver public lectures, give seminar presentations, participate in conferences, and otherwise contribute to ongoing research activities at the University of Arizona.
Specializations: Governance, culture, and language revitalization, including but not limited to natural resource management, indigenous politics, tribal education, entrepreneurship and economic development, and tribal health.
